Peddapalli Temples
Peddapalli under the region of Telangana in the Andhra Pradesh state of India. The region falls into the category of a fast developing city with many famous monuments which are in ruins. Peddapalli is one of the most developed City in Karimnagar.
Peddapalli is a Revenue Division and one of the Parlament in Karimnagar and largest Mandel. there is a lot of villages and Grama Panchayat Nearest Town from this village is Karimnagar. This City well connected from Karimnagar, Warangal and Hyderabad by road (State High Way) and from Warangal/Hyderabad/Nagpur by rail. There are around 1500 houses and 4500 population in this village. Laxmi Narsimha Swamy Temple :
There is a Laxmi Narsimha Swamy temple located on Devunipalli. One of the biggest siphons in asia is located just 6s kms from Peddapalli near Andugulapalli village.
Ayyappa Temple :
Swami ayyappa temple located at Peddapalli. It is known as another shabarimla for local devotees of swami ayyappa. People performing "AYYAPPA DIKSHA", undertake it here in November-December every year. Every year "AYYAPPA JATARA" is being conducted grandly. Many people of different villages, cities ( Peddapalli Mondal )around it participate in this.
Masjid :
Large masjid also located on Peddapalli Near Majeed Chou Rasta. Muslim devotees on the special occasions like ramadan, Bakr-Id offer praying collectively here.
DHULIKATTA :
Dhulikatta is a small village located at around 15Km from Peddapalli city and 5Km from Eligedu & Julapalli Mandal headquarters. One can follow the Karimnagar-Katnapalli-Eligedu-Dhulikatta route to reach this place. Katnapalli is located on Rajiv Rahadari. The nearest railway station is 'Peddapalli' which is located on the NewDelhi<->Kazipet line. Dhulikatta is around 23Km from there.
The Buddhist stupa and vihara found here were constructed during the last quarter of 2nd century BC on a prominent mound. The stupa was enlarged with addition of ayaka platforms and embellishment on the drum with more than limestone slabs carved with representations of stupa and Muchilinda Naga.
The village of Dhulikatta is situated on the right bank of Hussainivagu. The name Dhulikatta may be a corrupt form of Dhoulikota which literally means a mud fort. The villagers know very well the existence of a mud fort, which is now popularly called the Kota area.
Best Festival :
There is a very special festival that celebrated by Telangana people only is called Bathukamma pandaga, it comes before Dasara. It starts before 10 days of dasara. The Women and Children make bathukamma with lot of flowers and put them around in their varandas and play the songs by rounding those bathukammas. People celebrate this festival 9 days. On the 9th Day they will celebrate pedda Bathukamma . There will be hungama on the 9th day every body will wear pattu saries and they sing folk songs and at last they immerse them in rivers. After that the next day Dasar will come that every body knows as Vijaya Dashami.
